Is Luxury Retail a Solution for the Disposable Fashion Culture?

We love changing our wardrobes. We are fond of new ins and trends. For that, we quickly throw-away our used attires and products. Well, instant change in fashion is affordable when it is not a brand. It is hard for a person to buy a luxury every week. Therefore, we can say that luxury and branded products might be a solution to stop throw-away.

Well, the desire for fashion prevails when there are re-build trends. A person cannot halt himself from buying a trendy product when it comes to clothes, fashion changes like nothing. Everyone wants to fill his wardrobe with trendy attires. Therefore, you cannot fix the fashion under one brand or style. We have to buy new things when the season changes or we see a new design breakout. The seasonal collection is one of the best examples of fashion culture. Well, in the fashion industry, we can use the terms of sustainability and reuse of the products. Yes, by the time clothes and trendy things become old; however, we can reuse and re-build an unused product.

Fashion can change the demand within no time. Sometimes, a trend comes quickly, and at the same speed, it goes off. Well, such fast fashion can dispose of. These fast fashions have a very low probability of recycling, reuse, resold, and re-circulate the revenue. Even, you cannot expect high from the luxury in donations sales or secondhand sales. In today’s time, brands are taking the initiative on the reuse and sustainability of the used and unused products. They are introducing some long-term sustainability strategies for luxuries and fashion. Let’s take a real example to explain the mentioned sustainable scenario: Farfetch is an online retailer. Recently, this online company has launched a platform on which he is selling secondhand products. The products involved in the resale event was branded bags.

A report on the Farfetch showed that the resale market could give you profit ten times more than the original and one-time sale. Therefore, we can expect massive revenue from resale platforms. In the future, most likely, by 2028, this platform will give 1.5 times bigger revenue than the fast fashion market. The used items can give you a hike in your sales, with 13% of people’s used wardrobe.

When you buy a branded product, having the best quality and high price, it has organic suitability abilities. You can wear these clothes for a longer time. The resale of luxury products also brings the accessibility of middle-class consumers. When you do not belong to the elite class community, it is hard for you to buy a branded outfit. When the businesses provide the resale platform, many people from the middle-class and below the middle class will be able to afford it.

Social media has the power to leave prints on someone’s mind. Due to online brands and advertisements, the young generation changes their wardrobes more often. They like a quick and sudden change in their fashion’s taste. Therefore, social platforms are highlighting the threats of fast way and brands shopping. Apart from the brands, some social influencers are also winning the race of the use of luxury and brand. When a person follows a social media influencer, he does not want to see him in the repeated or same outfit. Thus, influencers are using branded clothes daily.

Here, I would shed light on a very paramount point. The essential thing in the life of a brand and customer is an advertisement. Advertisement strategies can change the buying behavior of a consumer. Therefore, through adds, we can convince people to buy new as well as old fashion products. We should enough resale platforms and old-style clothes. Through advertisements, a company can encourage the recycling of the used clothes.
